Plans to Have Sites in Every State by End of 2010
February 2010
(Nashville, Tenn.) – The Dispensary of Hope, a Nashville-based not-for-profit social venture, is pleased to announce the opening of its 50th dispensing site in Branson, MO through a partnership with Faith Community Health Center.
The Dispensary of Hope provides sustainable access to medicine for underinsured communities, and helps underserved individuals in getting the medications they need for short and long-term.
“Our organization is thrilled to have Faith Community Health Center become a dispensing site and we are confident that this partnership will help us continue our mission of providing medications to the uninsured and the underinsured,” said Jason Dinger, Chief Executive Officer of Dispensary of Hope. “We have 50 sites in 12 states and have a waiting list with over 120 possible sites so our year-end goal is well within reach.”
The dispensing site at Faith Community Health Center located at 611 South Sixth Street in Branson will be open two days a week and has already begun enrolling patient records into their systems.
Faith Community Health is committed to providing services for the working-class, uninsured families with quality and affordable healthcare and wellness needs. Located in a 20,000 sq ft. building, Faith Community Health Center houses a pharmaceutical dispensing site, an eye clinic with examination rooms and a dental office with two chairs, in addition to a laboratory.
“Branson is a unique area because we have a lot of citizens that have seasonal employment and once their employment ends, they are not offered health insurance from their businesses nor can they afford to keep the insurance due to the cost,” said Heather Brumey, co-owner of Branson Drugs and a board member for Faith Community Health Center. “We are looking forward to working in partnership with the Dispensary to help meet the medical needs of these individuals that play such an important role in our community.”
